Stay in one place? No way.

"I don't know why you have to leave today."

That's been my father's mantra all morning. But its happening. Finally. I'm about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Here is the game plan:

The journey... more or less
Really, the plan is - well that there is no plan. That seems to be the part that freaks everyone out. I don't actually have a place to sleep each night along the way (I'll be couch surfing with strangers), I have no job or apartment in Seattle. I know no one, and I've only been to Seattle once, a long ass time ago. I might have a roommate, but that's about it.

Allow me to guide you through a typical conversation about this journey, that way I can answer the questions that seem to be on everyone's mind:

So, the first question on everyone's mind: "Aren't you scared??"
"You're batshit crazy girl" look.
Not at all. Nervous? Maybe a little, but mostly excited.

"What is your plan?"
There is none (see above).

Then I get the: you're absolutely nuts look (see left), followed by a nostalgic, longing: I wish I did/could do that or a story about "the time I did this crazy thing similar to your crazy thing".

And finally, a "be safe and good luck!"

Telling people about my plans (or lack thereof) has been awesome. I love hearing others crazy adventures from when they were my age, or the lovely well wishes from strangers (shoutout to Rewa!).

Got more questions? Leave them in a comment!

I think my mother was about ready to kill me.
In preparation for this journey, I bought a new 2013 Kia Soul, went through 22 years of stuff (and trust me, there was a lot of stuff), took over my mother's living room (sorry ma!) (see right), then cleared out the living room, packed the car, and said fond farewells to my beloved friends and family (see below) - all in about 1 week. As per my usual fashion, I was up until 2am, and I still had a ton left to do (it just wouldn't feel right if I left Newtown without procrastinating packing then freaking out). But it's done, the car is packed (and I can still see out of all of my windows! Impressive, yes?), and I'm on my way!

Goodbyes are never easy.

Tonight, I'll be spending the night in Pittsburgh with a friend I met in Israel (thanks Ben!), and tomorrow, I continue to Madison, WI.

For now, it is time. Adventure, here I come!
