Montanans love all things Montana

It's state pride like I've never seen before - they even have their own dinosaur!

I kid you not - there were remains that were discovered only in Montana... therefore, I give you, the Montana dinosaur!

Not the Montana dino
Where does one learn such valuable information? Why, Bozeman's very own Museum of the Rockies! It's a small museum, but they feature some fantastic exhibits including The Treasures of Napoleon, a living farm (complete with people dressed in colonial farm garb) and one of the largest dinosaur exhibits in the world.

As cool as dinos are, I can't help but get a little bored while going through a large exhibit like this one, so I found ways to keep myself entertained - including this immature but hilarious perspective of two dinosaur models.

Mating dinos? Get a room!

Despite the growing local forest fire and absurd amounts of smoke and ash, we continued to get some outdoor time in. On Thursday, we went to Yellowstone National Park... well, we drove to it at least. We didn't actually go into the park (it was so smoky, it wasn't worth the $25 entry to see nothing other than nasty smoke). But, we did enjoy a pleasant drive through Paradise Valley on the way to the park, checked out the Yellowstone arch, and went on a great hike up a trail that we found along the road. Although the smoke must ruin the view, I kind of like the hazy, mysterious look it gives the Yellowstone river and the mountains surrounding it.

Hilarious horse photobomb!
Last night was my final night here in Bozeman before I continue on the last leg of my journey to Seattle. I'm sure there are a couple moms out there (including my own), and concerned friends keeping an eye on me via these posts (you're all awesome), so, I'm thrilled to let you know, I finally found a roommie, Joe (whom I still have yet to meet), and an apartment right in the city. I officially move in on Tuesday!
Once again, I am back in the "not sure where I'll be sleeping tonight" boat, but we'll see where today takes me.

Off into the (somewhat less terrifying now that I have somewhere to live) abyss!
