"You smell 'em..."

"...I sell 'em!"

Since I spent most of last week unpacking and organizing, I decided to treat myself to a lovely stroll to Pike Place market on Saturday afternoon. It's about 2 miles from the apartment, but its a great walk, and gave me a new idea of my surroundings. I had an awesome time wandering around, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells (well, sometimes I enjoyed the smells - the fresh fish stand wasn't so pleasant: "You smell 'em, I sell 'em!" - and boy, did I smell 'em).

Now that Joe and I are all set in the apartment: our rooms are all done, sofas set around his big screen TV, the trunk is open again (YAY!), and the fridge is filled - you know, the important things - we decided to use the beautiful weather and gentle breeze to our advantage so, we hopped on his sailboat to get a view of the city that not many get to appreciate. The awesome thing about Seattle is that it's beautiful from within (walk up any hill, and you'll get a view of the mountains or the ocean depending on which hill you pick, or head on over to Pike Place and pop a squat in the park and watch the boats pass by), but getting the perspective from the water was absolutely fantastic.
Of course, the actual sailing experience was also great. We had a nice wind going for most of the way to the city view, but the way back we were not so fortunate - the sun dipped behind the clouds, the wind got real strong in the wrong direction, and we froze our butts off the whole way home (note to self - it's fall in Seattle now therefore shorts are no longer appropriate wear, especially on the water).

There is still a pretty serious internet shortage at the apartment, which is another reason for all the exploring - I'm on the hunt for good coffee (which is abundant), and interwebs. The lack of internet has made job applications and blogging incredibly inconvenient (I apologize for my absence lately - assuming all goes well, we'll be online by tomorrow evening). Being a huge South Park fan, I can't help but be reminded of this clip: Internet Transients, just about every time I'm in the apartment wishing there were some interwebs to go around.

Now, back to job applications before the internet goes dry and I have to head out Californee way to get some.
